Terms and Conditions for Advertisers
Deals on the Doorstep Ltd
1. Agreement Formation
1.1 All advertisement orders must be confirmed via email. By placing an advertisement with Deals on the Doorstep Ltd (“the Publisher”), you (“the Advertiser”) agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, which constitute a legally binding agreement.
2. Registration and Payment
2.1 All Advertisers must register with GoCardless and provide valid Direct Debit details prior to publication.
2.2 Payment will be collected via Direct Debit at the beginning of each calendar month for that month’s advertising.
2.3 Any failed Direct Debit payment will incur an additional charge equal to 20% of the monthly advertising fee to cover administrative and processing costs.
3. Cancellations
3.1 A minimum of 60 days’ written notice via email is required to cancel advertising.
3.2 Notice periods are calculated from the date written notice is received by the Publisher and cannot be backdated.
3.3 Upon receipt of notice, the Publisher will confirm the termination date in writing. Advertising will continue throughout the notice period, and all applicable months within this period will be chargeable in full.
3.4 It is the Advertiser’s responsibility to cancel their Direct Debit mandate on the agreed termination date.
3.5 If the Direct Debit is cancelled prematurely and invoicing becomes necessary, an additional one month’s advertising fee will be charged to cover administrative costs.
3.6 If the Direct Debit is not cancelled after the agreed termination date, advertising space will remain reserved and chargeable until:
- a new advertiser occupies the space; or
- the Advertiser provides final written confirmation and cancels the Direct Debit.
3.7 All reserved advertising space is non-refundable, including where multiple months or placements have been booked.
4. Deadlines and Artwork Submission
4.1 To be included in the following month’s issue, both advertisement booking and final artwork must be received by the 20th day of the current month.
4.2 For example, submissions received by 20 July will appear in the August edition.
4.3 Artwork must be supplied in JPEG format at 940 × 788 pixels (landscape).
4.4 A complimentary design service is available. All designs created by the Publisher remain the intellectual property of Deals on the Doorstep Ltd and may only be used within the Publisher’s e-magazine.
4.5 Any external use of such designs without prior written consent will incur additional licensing fees. Enquiries should be directed to:
contact@dealsonthedoorstep.co.uk
4.6 Requests for artwork amendments must be submitted at least 7 days prior to the 1st of the publication month.
4.7 Failure to provide artwork by the deadline does not release the Advertiser from their full payment obligation.
5. Service Delivery and Promotional Activity
5.1 The advertising service includes, but is not limited to:
- inclusion within the monthly e-magazine;
- social media sharing;
- business recommendations and general promotional exposure.
5.2 The Publisher will use reasonable endeavours to provide promotional activity; however, frequency, timing, and volume are not guaranteed.
5.3 Full service delivery is prioritised during the first three (3) weeks of each advertising month.
5.4 Where an Advertiser is within their notice period or approaching the end of their advertising term, promotional activity during the final week of the month may be reduced or unavailable.
5.5 Inclusion within the e-magazine will be fulfilled for each paid month; however, supplementary promotional activity is provided on a reasonable endeavours basis only.
5.6 Any variation, reduction, delay, or omission in promotional activity shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the Advertiser to any refund, credit, or reduction in fees.
6. Proofs and Circulation
6.1 The magazine is distributed on the first working day of each month.
6.2 New Advertisers will receive a full proof (including hyperlinks) at least 24 hours prior to first publication.
6.3 From the second month onward, proofs will not be provided unless otherwise agreed in writing.
7. Loyalty Advertising Rate
7.1 Advertising rates may increase in line with growth in circulation and subscriber numbers.
7.2 Advertisers maintaining an uninterrupted monthly Direct Debit will retain their original agreed rate.
7.3 If a Direct Debit is cancelled or paused and later reinstated, the Advertiser will be subject to the current advertising rate at the time of rejoining.
8. Advertising Content and Compliance
8.1 All advertisements must comply with:
- The UK Code of Advertising Practice (CAP Code)
- The Trade Descriptions Act and all applicable laws
8.2 The Advertiser agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Publisher against any claims, damages, losses, or costs arising from advertisement content.
8.3 Advertisements must not contain content that is misleading, defamatory, unlawful, fraudulent, or infringe third-party rights.
9. Publisher’s Rights
9.1 The Publisher reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse, amend, suspend, or withdraw any advertisement without obligation to provide a reason.
9.2 The Publisher accepts no liability for:
- errors or omissions in advertisements;
- delays in distribution;
- failure to publish due to circumstances beyond its control.
10. Limitation of Liability
10.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Publisher shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from:
- use of or reliance on the magazine;
- inability to access the magazine;
